The Suzanne Alderman CFE Scholarship
In memory and honor of the Albany ACFE Chapter’s long serving Treasurer
Passing the CFE exam is an outstanding achievement and we want to help our members defray some of the costs incurred to reach this accomplishment. The Chapter Board of Directors allocates $1,500 annually to fund the Suzanne Alderman CFE scholarships. Amounts are disbursed to Albany Area Chapter members to reimburse them for a portion of the exam and preparation course expenses incurred which are not otherwise reimbursed to the member from other sources.
The Albany ACFE Chapter provides up to $500 to each member who qualifies, not to exceed the annual allocation. To qualify for this scholarship:
(1) your membership must be current,
(2) you must have been a member of the Chapter for at least one year immediately prior to taking the exam, and
(3) you must have passed the CFE exam.
If you meet these criteria, please send the following information to the Chapter President within 30 days of receiving notification from the ACFE that you passed the exam:
The application deadline is November 30th of each year. Any requests received after November 30th will be considered for reimbursement the following year.
Your application will be reviewed, verified and presented to the Board at their December meeting. At that time, the Directors will vote on the recipient(s) and amount(s) of the award(s). We will present the reimbursement check(s) to each recipient at our next training event.
The Board reserves the right to review this policy and make changes as needed.
